installing another hard drive

Well, I need an additional hard drive to store music on, and I bought a nice Western Digital 500GB SATA 7200 rpm hard drive. Now all I have to do is install it. I've never actually installed a hard drive before, but I have seen it done. I've removed a hard drive...actually the one I removed is around my house someplace but I can't find it atm. It's the drive from my old machine. I do want to put it back in my machine whenever I find it but even so, I need a drive for music.

So....this is gonna be interesting. I am printing out the instructions on how to install it now. I hope I don't fuck up my machine irreparably! I was going to have Mack do it but then I said, well, I'm sure I can get directions from the web. It's times like these that I really miss having a computer guru boyfriend. Oh well. He did actually give me some brief advice on which hd to get but I certainly cannot get any further assistance from him. I also called my friend Duckie and left him a message telling him what I'm doing. Maybe he'll call me back.

I need this so I can upload all my music because I got an mp3 player for christmas that I haven't even touched until now because the idea of uploading all my cd's seemed like it wouldn't be much fun. But, since I'm having my party Saturday, I need music and I don't want to be switching cd's out all night.

I guess I'll hopefully still have the capability to post another entry later after I install it and everything is working perfectly LOL. Wish me luck!

My friend Kristy who was one of the girls in my group who went to Granada, Spain last year has this awesome blog about all the adventures she goes on. So I was reading it and wistfully reviewing her account of our trip last summer and started thinking....I guess I should make my own blog. I am moving to Nashville soon. This way I can stay in touch with my friends and have it not be on myspace.

So, I'm making it. I don't know how much I'm going to post on it right away but maybe I will begin to post regularly once I move and am bored and lonely.
